Telecom — Nigeria
There are some insights that are so Nigerian that it would be a crime not to use them in your storytelling as an ad man. One of such insights is our perpetual daydreaming about what we would do if we had some extra money in our pockets. "If I get money ehn, I go buy one full chicken, chop only one leg, troway di rest" and so on and so forth. That was the basis of our commercial for 9mobile, created together with the amazingly talented Magnito.
Cliqlite is the educational product from Nigeria's telecom company Etisalat (now 9mobile). The brief was to introduce it to young people and their parents in order to create brand awareness and inspire sign-up. Our answer was the theme "Make Learning Fun."
We redesigned the mnemonic for radio: children humming the brand's payoff tune. It was an instant hit. We produced a TVC, OOH, print, a web portal, and music instantly available to Cliqlite subscribers. We also created the second most successful branded comic book franchise in Nigeria to date: Cliqlite Agents — whose characters unified every channel of the campaign.
